Trade your books

We’d love to see your used books on our shelves so here’s what you need to know if you want to trade in the books you’ve read for something different.

We offer about 20% of a book’s original price as an in-store credit. The credit is like a gift certificate that you can use towards the purchase of another book in the shop. The credit we give depends on the book’s condition, its popularity and how many other copies we have already. Sorry, but we don’t pay cash for books.

Please understand that sometimes we can’t take everything you bring in.We may already have several copies of a particular title. Books can be hard to sell if they are in poor condition, mouldy or have an odour.

Readers Digest condensed books, encyclopedia sets and outdated textbooks are best left at home. We generally have more hardcovers than we can handle.

If you’re bringing hundreds of books at one time, give us a call at 705-746-4731 so we know you’re coming. It can be hard for us to look at large quantities of books when we’re really busy.

Some authors we’re always happy to see include Janet Evanovich, Jodi Piccoult, Ian Rankin, Harlen Coben, Jojo Moyes, Carolyn Keene, J.K. Rowling and Enid Blyton.

If you’re not sure, give us a call or email us at bearlyusedbooks@gmail.com with the author or types of books you’re looking to bring in.
